PIPE-FLO customers range from small engineering consultants
to large multinational companies. To meet the needs of this
diverse group of customers PIPE-FLO is offered in various
licensing options providing your company with the
flexibility you need.
PIPE-FLO Stand Alone Version
Users: PIPE-FLO Stand Alone Version is perfect for use in
small consulting firms or companies in which only one or two
people use the software.
License Management: A hardware verification key connected to
the computer running the software provides the license
management in the Stand Alone version.
Capability: The Stand Alone license agreement allows the
hardware verification key to be moved, providing the user
with the ability to run PIPE-FLO on any computer.
Features/Benefits: The computer running the Stand Alone
version can be connected to a Local Area Network to take
advantage of the print and file sharing services.
Restrictions: The Stand Alone version of PIPE-FLO only runs
on the computer where the verification key is installed.
PIPE-FLO Enterprise Network
Users: Companies that want to share the software across
their network are best served with the PIPE-FLO Enterprise
Network Version.
License Management: License management of the Enterprise
Network Version uses a network-based program, allowing
anyone on your company's network to access PIPE-FLO based on
the number of concurrent licenses. PIPE-FLO minimizes
network traffic by directly addressing the IP address of the
server running the License Manager, eliminating the need to
broadcast across the network to find an available license.
Capability: With the Enterprise Network Version you can have
as many concurrent users of PIPE-FLO as you have licenses.
Features/Benefits: The Enterprise Network Version gives you
the maximum utilization of the software throughout your
entire company, along with the ease of installation you have
come to expect with all Engineered Software products. It
includes a remote checkout feature, giving users the ability
to assign a license to a laptop computer or a remote office
that does not have direct network access. The remote user
e-mails a computer token to the checkout administrator in
the main office. The checkout administrator runs the Check
Out program, enters the number of days for the remote
license (maximum of 30 days), and e-mails the checkout token
to the remote users.
The Enterprise Network Version also comes equipped with the
tools your Network Administrator needs to install and
maintain PIPE-FLO:
-
The network administrator can setup PIPE-FLO to redirect
all users to the same directories. This provides exceptional
design control by having all users access the same
engineering data tables, electronic catalogs, and design
files used by the program.
-
Usage logs are provided so the network administrator can
see how often the program is accessed.
-
The network administrator can limit the number of licenses
that can be checked out at any one time.
-
User group reservations can be established, insuring
access to PIPE-FLO users that are on a critical project.
Restrictions: None.
Program Upgrades and Adding Licenses
Regardless of the PIPE-FLO options you choose, Engineered
Software provides you with the ability to remotely upgrade
your software at any time. Additional licenses can be added
to Enterprise Network versions as your needs increase. In
addition, you can upgrade from a Stand Alone to an
Enterprise Network version without having to miss a beat.
License Management Hardware Requirements
The License Management software used by the Enterprise Network Version may run on a computer running the following operating systems: Windows 2003 Server, Windows 2008 Server, Windows XP, Windows Vista
or Windows 7.
