The
Piping System Assessment and Optimization seminar
instructs attendees on how to evaluate energy
consumption within your piping systems. With the main
purpose of identifying ways of improving system
reliability and reducing maintenance cost, capital cost,
and operating cost. The seminar is based on the recently
approve Energy Assessment for Pumping Systems
Standard (ASME EA-2-2009). In addition, the
seminar expands on the standard to provide you with an
easy to follow method for performing system assessments
and optimizations.
Day 1
During the first day we build a solid
foundation of knowledge needed to understand the system
approach of performing a Pumping System Assessment. If
you have been to the Piping System Training two-day
course, this will be a little bit of a review, but with
a focus on the Assessment Process.
Day 2
During the second day of the seminar well look how to develop an optimization method to employ the various steps needed to successfully complete a pumping system assessment. A pre-screening exercise is conducted to evaluate various piping systems to prioritize them according to potential energy savings, and an example assessment is presented to demonstrate the assessment and optimization method.
Day 3
During the third day with you will
gain hands-on experience in performing Assessment
Exercises using the knowledge gained during the seminar.
After reviewing the system and conducting a system
walkthrough with the instructor, you break up into
groups to perform a system assessment and consider a
variety of system optimization options. At the
conclusion of each exercise, each groups conclusions
will be appraised to further drive home the learning
experience.
Who Should Attend?
This seminar is ideally suited for
engineers interested in developing an energy assessment
and optimization plan for pumping systems. This includes
individuals involved in developing a comprehensive
corporate energy conservation program, as well as
individuals at the plant level involved in carrying out
a local energy assessment and optimization plan.
Since the cornerstone of the
pumping system assessment is to operate the
equipment efficiently, this seminar is ideal for
individuals responsible for operating and
maintaining piping systems. Running the system more
efficiently reduces the operating cost as well as
the maintenance costs. In addition, many of the
areas covered in the assessment can be easily
applied to developing troubleshooting techniques for
pumping systems.
