Engineered Software, Inc. Announces New Training Course, “Piping System Assessment and Optimization”
New Training Based on New ASME Energy Assessment Standard

LACEY, Washington—April 14, 2010 - Engineered Software, Inc. announces the availability of the latest addition to its training catalog. The new course titled, Piping System Assessment and Optimization, is based on the recently approved American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) standard “Energy Assessment for Pumping Systems Standard” (ASME EA-2-2009). The three-day course teaches attendees how to evaluate energy consumption within piping systems.

The course awards 2.4 continuing educational credits or 24 professional development hours upon completion. The first course will be held on April 27-29, 2010 in Lacey, WA.

The course’s primary purpose is to identify ways of improving system reliability, therefore reducing maintenance cost, capital cost and operating cost. It also expands on the written standard to provide attendees with easy to follow methods for performing system assessments and optimizations. By the end of the training, attendees will have a working assessment plan that they will be able to implement in their own facilities.

This seminar is suited for engineers interested in developing energy assessment and optimization plans for pumping systems. This could include engineers involved in developing a corporate energy comprehension program as well as engineers at plant level involved in carrying out a local energy assessment and optimization plan. It is also ideal for those responsible for operating and maintaining piping systems. A complete course outline is available online.

Piping Assessment and Optimization class attendees will receive a copy of the “Energy Assessment for Pumping Systems Standard” as well as an extensive course manual and worksheets to maximize the value of their learning experience during and after the training course.

“The written standard only gives a framework and requirements for performing an assessment,” said Ray Hardee, P.E., CEO & Chief Engineer at Engineered Software, Inc. “However, we have created a workable plan for our attendees to use when they are performing their own assessments at their own facilities. This course is right in line with what our primary training goals have been from the beginning – enhanced system knowledge leads to decreased costs and increased productivity.”

Pricing and Availability
The Piping System Assessment and Optimization course is priced at $1,295 and includes course materials and the Energy Assessment for Pumping Systems Standard book. For venue, registration and further information, visit www.eng-software.com, call (800) 786-8545 or email register@eng-software.com
