Engineered Software, Inc produces software to
perform engineering calculations and select
industrial equipment. We have a dedicated team of engineers,
programmers and sales/marketing professionals.
Engineered Software developed the PUMP-FLO program that is
used by over 100 manufacturers of centrifugal
pumps worldwide. In an effort to better meet our customers
diverse needs we are starting to develop customized solutions
for these manufacturers. We are looking for an individual
with experience in the sales and distribution channel of
industrial equipment. Experience in the consultative selling
of integrated software solutions is a plus. This position
does require travel to customers location, tradeshows, and
industry meetings.

Job description: The person filling this
position must have 5 to 10 years experience within the
industrial sales and distribution process. Additionally,
experience in consultative B2B selling of integrated
software solutions is preferred. We have a series of core
products currently being used by over 100 manufacturers of
centrifugal pumps. We are looking for an individual that can
work directly with these existing customers and help develop
a customized solution to meet their company’s sales,
marketing and technical support needs. This individual
must be an excellent listener and be able to identify and
work with the key individuals in the customer’s
organization to develop a roadmap of their needs. This
individual would then work with the PUMP-FLO Project
Manager and the Software Development Manager to develop a
price and schedule for the software implementation.
The individual will then follow the sales process to
conclusion. During the implementation process the sales
person will ensure the customer needs are being met by our
inside development team.
This position is for someone who
enjoys the fast paced environment of a growing company and
introducing new products to market.
This position will perform
the following tasks:
- Call on existing customers and
discover their needs for an integrated software solution.
- Map the account to determine the key decision maker along
with other key individuals within the customers
organization.
- Work with the customer’s decision maker and
key individuals to develop a roadmap outlining their software
needs, objectives and concerns.
- Work with the PUMP-FLO
Product Manager and Software Development Manager to arrive
at a price and implementation schedule for the customer.
- Present the Engineered Software response to the customer,
address their questions and concerns and work with them
through to the close of the sale.
- Work with existing low
revenue customers to educate them on the additional products
and services we have to offer.
- Quickly obtain a working
understanding of our products and the markets we serve.
- Record all steps of the sales cycle in a Customer Relation
Management program and provide progress reports to company
management.
- Provide management with current information
about customers wants, desires and status of the competition.
Provide feedback on why a customer did or did not purchase
our offering.
- Provide management with sufficient
information to forecast sales.
- Travel to customers
locations, trade shows and industry meetings is required
(approx. 25% travel).
Skills and Knowledge
- Must be a good listener with the ability to determine
customer’s needs.
- Must be well-versed and have experience in consultative
sales.
- Must work well within both the customers’ organization and
at Engineered Software.
- Must have a strong phone presence and strong
presentation skills.
- Experienced in working with Customer Relation Management
(CRM) software, and Web conferencing software.
Education and
Experience
- BA/BS required. Credit will be given for industry
experience.
- Must have
at least 5 to10 years experience within the industrial sales
and distribution process.
- Consultative
B2B sales experience a plus.
- Experience in selling integrated computerized
software solutions is a plus.
Compensation: Salary for
this position will include base salary plus commission. We
offer a full benefits package, however relocation is
typically not available.

Territory Manager (Sales):
Step into a role in an established territory- selling software
to engineers both domestically and internationally. If you have
prior selling success and possess strong prospecting and closing
skills, this is the position for you.
Engineer: We utilize
engineers (ME, ChE or CE) that have a working knowledge of how
to analyze fluid piping systems, compressible gas systems, paper
stock piping systems, or pump selection. Our engineers fill many
roles- piping system analysis support, product training,
pre-sales engineering support, engineering feature development
of analysis software packages, documentation, and more. A
knowledge of process Logic Controllers and their use in the
field is also a skill that is beneficial.
Software Developers (Some in Test):
Our developers have strong object oriented design and
programming skills, and opportunities to work with the latest
development techniques and technologies. They work in a very
creative and collaborative environment supporting an industry
leading product.
CAD Digitization Technician:
Prints and organizes paper catalog in preparation for
digitization. Digitizes pump performance curves. Tests digitized
curves using PUMP-FLO software for any anomalies. Beneficial
Skills include: ability to read and correctly interpret
information from a graph, type 40 words per minute, 10 key
knowledge, proficiency with MS Outlook and Excel and familiarity
with basic PC and network file organization.
Office Personnel: We
utilize office personnel who have extraordinary organizational
aptitude. Additional skills in accounting, invoicing, and order
taking, handling customer inquiries and handling day to day
office needs are a necessary requirement.
Internship- Co-op Positions
Available:
Engineered Software has an active
internship/ Co-op program for college and university students
majoring in Mechanical, Chemical, or Civil Engineering, Computer
Science, and Marketing. All interns and Co-ops will be working
on active projects and receive compensation.
