How to Generate a System Resistance Curve on PUMP-FLO.com There are three ways to specify a System Resistance Curve (SRC) on www.PUMP-FLO.com.
(Note: Any time you use the 'Generate SRC' feature, the software will hold the values used to generate the system curve and show the same curve on future selections. To clear those values, you need to start a new selection. Click the Catalogs tab and select the catalog you want, then start a new search. This will clear the values stored in the automatic system curve generator.) B. The second method to generate a system curve is to allow one to be generated automatically using the data you enter into the Total Head Calculator. Click on the "Calculate" button to the right of the Head box on the design point search screen, or click the Total Head Calculator button on the black toolbar at the top of your screen. Go through the steps of the Total Head Calculator, then when you get your results, check the "Generate SRC" box before clicking Accept. After you run your search, the system curve generated from the data entered in the Total Head Calculator will be drawn on the resulting curves. (Note: When you check the 'Generate SRC' box in the Total Head Calculator and return to the Design Point Search screen, the Generate SRC box will now be checked and grayed out, indicating that the software already has values it will use to generate a system curve. If you go to the Advanced Criteria area, the values the software will use for the system curve will be displayed.) C. The last method is to manually enter the points you would like to use in the Advanced Criteria area. To do this, click the Advanced Criteria button on the black toolbar at the top of your screen, then enter points to describe your SRC in the Resistance Curves section. You must enter at least two points and can enter as many as five points, including the zero flow point. After you have entered all the points you need, click Primary Criteria, then enter your design point and run a search. The system curve you have entered will be drawn on the resulting curves. (Note: the Generate SRC button is now grayed out, as the software will use the points you have entered to draw the system curve rather than generating one based on your design point.) (Top) Newest Members of the PUMP-FLO FamilyThese are latest Manufacturer additions to the PUMP-FLO Catalogs We are pleased to announce the PUMP-FLO launch of the Australian division of KSB, one of the most recognized names in pumps. KSB is rolling out both our web-based, ePUMP-FLO software, and the PUMP-FLO desktop program for their reps to size and specify their pump line. KSB Australia specializes in horizontal, single-stage, and end suction centrifugal pumps that comply with the requirements of EN 733 (DIN 24255). Within the United States, the Chicago based pump manufacture Swaby Pumps, will make use of the standalone version of PUMP-FLO to streamline their pump selection process. Swaby Pumps specializes in the servicing of industrial, water, sewage, and chemical plants. The Oregon based pump manufacturer, Cornell, has expanded the role of PUMP-FLO for their product line, by offering the PUMP-FLO desktop program as a complement to their existing ePUMP-FLO software on their website. PUMP-FLO is also busy updating several pump manufacturer catalogs. The two biggest updates include the TACO and TruFlo pump lines, as well as minor updates for Ingersoll Rand and APV. All of these catalog updates are scheduled to be finished by the end of the second quarter. Please be sure to check our pump manufacturer page regularly at www.eng-software.com/pml for the latest updates. The creation of an Electronic PUMP-FLO Catalog, or Catalog, is a team effort between Engineered Software and the pump manufacturer. If you would like to see a manufacturers' catalog added to our list, please email info@pump-flo.com or call 800-786-8545. Don't be afraid to ask your pump manufacturer about when they will be available for selection with the PIPE-FLO, Flow of Fluids, and PUMP-FLO programs. How can a pipeline have a positive dP?
(Top^)ESI (the makers of PUMP-FLO) is all a-twitter with the question "What are you doing?"
Over 10 million people in the U.S. alone are using it, and the growth has been steadily climbing. Not too shabby for a company that has only been around since 2006. You might be surprised to find some of your favorite companies and publications represented on there as well, so check it out! You can learn more about the Twitter startup company here http://twitter.com/about#about. ESI plans to use Twitter for posting updates about our software, products, videos, interesting links, news, announcements, etc., but we also want you to tell us what you are doing. This is an interactive way of communicating, and could facilitate more of a two-way conversation. Not to be confused with our software support, but could possibly aid us in other areas of customer service.
